ATHENS - Georgia will be without starting linebacker Monty Rice this weekend.
UGA coach Kirby Smart confirmed that Rice would be out at his weekly press conference on Monday. Rice suffered the injury as he warmed up for the UMass game. He was scheduled to be a captain for the game, but didn’t arrive at midfield before the game for a meeting with officials.
“The middle linebacker is critical against Tech,” Smart said on Monday. “Monty is probably not going to be able to play this week. We think he will get better, but we don’t know when. He’s doubtful for this week.”
