ATHENS - It looks like Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs hit the jackpot when they signed elite tight end, Elyiss Williams.

One of the nation’s top tight end prospects in the 2025 class, Williams came to Athens raw but highly touted with impressive size, physicality and dependable hands.

While the Dawgs are stacked at tight end, they’ve made sure to get their playmaking tight end more involved as the season has moved along.

Against Mississippi State, with the Dawgs down 10-3 and facing an important 3rd and 11, quarterback Gunner Stockton looked Williams’ way down the field. He threw a high ball down the sideline that allowed Williams to leap up and snatch the ball out of the air for a big first down. The Dawgs scored a touchdown one play leader to take the lead in Starkville. Of course, they would never look back.

It was a big moment in the game, but the Georgia offense had faith in the talented freshman. One reason why is because of the leadership in the tight end room.

DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!

According to FanDuel, the Atlanta Falcons are 3.5-point favorites to defeat the Carolina Panthers this weekend.

Led by veterans Oscar Delp and Lawson Luckie, Todd Hartley’s room has been extremely effective over the last few weeks. Kirby Smart told reporters this week that the entire staff has done an excellent job of not only getting Williams ready to play big minutes, but to continue developing their playmaking senior.

"I think both those guys are playing well”,m Smart told reporters this week. I think [Tight Ends Coach Todd Hartley and Quality Control Coordinator John Lilly] and those guys have done a great job with the development of Elyiss [Williams], but also with Oscar [Delp]. He was not a completed player last year, and he came back with a purpose of getting better. I think he just loves Georgia and loves the team, and he's so fired up every game to do whatever role you ask him to do. He's just as excited about his downfield block for a touchdown as he is his catch for a touchdown. The guy's never complained one time since being here about touches in the ball and making that a priority. He does whatever the team asks him to do. He's very selfless, all those guys in that room are. I think he should take some ownership in Elyiss' [Williams] growth, because he and Lawson [Luckie] both show him how to work, how to do things, what the standard is at Georgia and they compete with each other to make each other better."

So far this season, Delp has caught 14 passes for 199 yards and one touchdown. He’s coming off his most productive game of the season against Mississippi State where he hauled in three passes for 41 yards and one touchdown.

As for Williams, the freshman from Camden County has hauled in six passes for 109 yards and one touchdown.

Veteran Lawson Luckie has 10 receptions so far this season for 81 yards and three touchdowns.

Don’t be surprised if the tight ends have a major impact on the Bulldog offense this weekend against Texas.
