ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs got some good news on the recruiting trail this week as they continue to prepare for the Florida Gators.

Four-star running back target Andrew Beard II‍, one of the best across the South in the 2027 class, released his “Top 5” this week that included Georgia,  Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Alabama.

The local athlete out of Prince Avenue Christian (GA) is the nephew of former Bulldog running back Garrison Hearst and has held an offer from Georgia for some time now. The Athens-area playmaker is one of the more versatile running backs in the state with the ability to make big plays as a pass-catcher.

Through his first eight games, the 5-foot-9 190-pounder has run for 852 yards and 10 touchdowns on just 94 carries. He’s averaging 9.1 yards per carry and 107 rushing yards per game. He’s also caught 21 passes for 301 yards and four more scores. He’s one of the fastest backs in the state who can score from anywhere on the field. The Bulldogs have been seen as the favorite to land Beard from the beginning of his recruitment but the in-state Yellow Jackets are also a team he’s very high on. He was in Atlanta over the weekend to watch the Jackets take down Syracuse.

He’s currently ranked as the No. 6 RB prospect and the No. 94 overall prospect in the 2027 class.

DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!

According to FanDuel, the Georgia Bulldogs have +1200 odds to win the national championship this season.

In other news, Dawg Post can confirm that the Georgia staff has been in conversations recently with new Clemson de-commitment Blake Stewart. Ranked as the No. 35 safety prospect and the No. 45 overall prospect in Georgia, Stewart is an Atlanta native out of Woodward Academy having a really strong senior season. A consistent playmaker on both sides of the ball, Stewart has hauled in 34 passes this season for 426 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, the 6-foot-1 170-pounder has made 37 tackles with three TFLs, two INTs, one pass-breakup, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

The Bulldogs currently have five defensive back commitments and another from four-star Chace Calicut‍ who was arrested over the summer.

Stewart did say that he has no current plans to visit Georgia for a game but those plans could still happen in the future.
