GREEN BAY - It’s hard to find another college football program that has produced more high quality offensive linemen over the years than the Georgia Bulldogs.
Every year the Bulldogs send offensive linemen to the NFL, and starting right guard Tate Ratledge is the latest to hear his name called.
The former five-star prospect from Rome, Georgia, Ratledge chose UGA over Tennessee during his recruitment, and after an outstanding career in Athens, Ratledge has been selected by the ? with the No. ? overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Ratledge was a 2023 AP All-America Second Team selection two years ago and was a 2024 AP All-America Third Team selection in his final season last fall.
Ratledge started the 2021 season at right guard but suffered a season-ending injury early against Clemson. He came back strong in 2022 and was a consistent starter over his final three seasons. He’s a big, physical guard who also played a major role as a leader in the locker room. He was a fan-favorite from the moment he chose Georgia over Tennessee and left Athens as a two-time national champion and SEC champion. He’s an incredibly decorated player and one of the better guards to play at Georgia during the Kirby Smart era.
Ratledge made his mark in Athens, and now he’ll look to do the same in Detroit.
