ATHENS - It looks like Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are pushing hard to flip a current defensive lineman from the Tennessee Volunteers.
That would be Hoover (AL) standout, Tyson Bacon.
A three-star prospect with a five-star name, Bacon saw his recruitment take off in January after a strong junior season for the mighty Buccaneers.
A lean, aggressive defensive lineman who can line up on the EDGE or move inside, Bacon is explosive off the snap at 6-foot-4 265-pounds who can blow up any particular play in the backfield. He moves well for his size and does a good job of attacking the ball-carrier in pursuit.
Bacon committed to Tennessee back on October 21st, two months before his recruitment really took off. The Bulldogs extended an offer on January 23rd. He also earned offers in January from Alabama, Auburn, Missouri, Ole Miss, Kentucky, and USC.
How does Bacon feel about Georgia?
DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!
According to FanDuel, Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow has +600 odds to win NFL MVP next season. be the first player selected in the 2025 NFL Draft this spring.
“It’s my dads favorite place”, Bacon told Dawg Post. “The coach and staff there are really big on relationships and that is very important.”
Bacon added that he’ll be in Athens for an spring visit on March 14th and has an official visit scheduled for the weekend of May 16th.
The Bulldogs took only two true interior defensive linemen in last year’s 2025 class but did take three of the best EDGE defenders in the country. If Bacon continues to put on good weight and muscle over the next 12 months, there’s a chance he’ll start inside where ever he ends up at the college level.
He’s currently ranked as the No. 37 DL prospect and the No. 403 overall prospect in the country.
