Former UGA Football Star Runs Wild For Buffalo Bills
Former Georgia Bulldog football star and 2021 national champion James Cook had another giant day on the ground for the mighty Buffalo Bills.
The versatile back from Miami has become one of the better running backs in the AFC since coming into the league in 2022 and had another big game over the weekend, rushing for an impressive 105 yards and two touchdowns during Buffalo’s big 48-42 road win over the Detroit Lions. Cook had a six-yard score in the 2nd quarter and an impressive 41-yard breakaway score in the 3rd quarter. He also caught one pass from quarterback Josh Allen for 28 yards.
Cook has rushed for 828 yards and 13 touchdowns this season along with 29 catches for 232 yards and one touchdown.
According to FanDuel, Cook and the Buffalo Bills now have +180 odds to win the AFC this season.
Of course, it wasn’t all good news for former Bulldog running backs. After a tough season-ending injury last season, Cleveland Browns star Nick Chubb broke his foot during the Browns’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. After working his way back to the field this fall, this is another tragic injury for Chubb who continues to find bad luck on the gridiron.
Chubb ran wild during his time in Athens from 2014-2017, rushing for an incredible 4,769 yards and 44 touchdowns.
