ATHENS - Kirby Smart and UGA Football were ranked No. 10 in the 2nd College Football Playoff Committee rankings of the year Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs are ranked No. 8 in both the Coaches’ and AP Poll this week. Kirby Smart’s two-loss Bulldogs are coming off a two-score win over No. 7 Tennessee Saturday night at Sanford Stadium in Athens. The Dawgs take on UMass in Sanford Stadium Saturday afternoon on SEC+.
The Bulldogs have wins over No. 17 Clemson, No. 3 Texas and No. 11 Tennessee. UGA also has a loss to No. 7 Alabama and No. 9 Ole Miss. All of those games combines means the Dawgs have played the most-difficult schedule in college football this season.
Becuase of mandated placement of conference champions in the tournamet, UGA would be seeded No. 11, and trvel to play at No. 6 Penn State, who has only played two teams ranked in the CFP this season. The winner of that game would play Miami in the Peach Bowl in Atlanta.
