ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have flipped a top in-state defender away from the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
That would be four-star safety, Rasean Dinkins.
A fast-rising senior who earned an offer from the Bulldogs on September 6th, Dinkins is a relatively new target who had been committed to Georgia Tech since June 2nd.
The Warner Robins (GA) standout is welcomed in with open arms as it’s been a revolving door in the secondary in Georgia’s 2025 class. The Bulldogs lost a commitment from four-star safety Rashad Johnson earlier this fall and lost a commitment from elite cornerback Shamari Earls last week.
Dinkins is having a big senior season and saw his relationship with Georgia to grow even before they extended that offer in early September.
Now, Dinkins gives Georgia a much-needed playmaker in the secondary once again.

According to FanDuel, the Georgia Bulldogs are 2.5-point favorites against the Ole Miss Rebels in Oxford this weekend.
What will Dinkins bring to Athens?
Versatility and ball skills.
The 5-foot-11 185-pounder brings plenty of size, but his ability to close on receivers down the field and make a play on the ball really stands out on film. He reacts quickly in coverage but knows how to help against the run as well. He can dissect plays quickly, react, and attack.
He has a nose for the ball against the run, and knows how to make a play on it in the air. He was named Region 2-5A Defensive Player of the Year as a junior last year as he made 62 tackles and brought down three interceptions. As a sophomore, Dinkins picked off an eye-opening eight passes.
A natural athlete who can also carry the ball for the Demons on offense, Dinkins is a physical tackler who can bring an intimidating presence to the Bulldog defense. He plays hard, loves to compete, and gives max-effort on every play. He’s a gifted prospect who has improved more and more each year.
He was one of Georgia Tech’s biggest commitments. Now, he’s committed to Georgia.
Dinkins gives Georgia their 24th commitment in the 2025 class and their fourth commitment in the secondary, joining four-star safety Todd Robinson, four-star cornerback Jontae Gilbert, and four-star safety Jaylan Morgan. Look for the Dawgs to possibly add one more cornerback down the stretch if they can land the right guy.
Dinkins is ranked as the No. 33 safety prospect and the No. 346 overall prospect in the 2025 class.
