“Georgia has to be careful this week with that trip to Kentucky,” ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit said. “I can’t wait to see this one. Big opportunity for the Kentucky Wildcats at home. Georgia coming off an emotional win over Florida in Jacksonville. I’m interested to see that one.”
The Bulldog are listed as 9.5-point favorites over the Cats for this weekend. Georgia is ranked as the third one-loss team in the rankings behind LSU and Michigan. The SEC has five teams in the top 11 of the initial rankings.
Alabama was ranked No. 1 followed by Clemson at No. 2. Georgia’s only loss came to No. 3 LSU. Undefeated Notre Dame is at No. 4. Michigan is in front of the Bulldogs at No. 5. Oklahoma, Washington State, Kentucky and Ohio State round out the top ten in that order.
There was also a discussion of two SEC teams getting into the playoff again this season.
“If (Alabama goes) back and lose to Georgia,” ESPN’s Chris Fowler said, “that would be the debate. Would (Alabama) drop out?”
