ATHENS - UGA Football will be in primetime on ABC once again - this time against the No. 1 Texas Longhorns.
The SEC announced Monday that the Bulldogs will face No. 1 Texas at 7:30 PM, which was likely a result of dual upsets suffered by Alabama and Tennessee on Saturday. The Tide’s shocking 40-35 loss to Vanderbilt was the talk of the weekend, but the Vols dropped a tight contest to Arkansas.
This is Georgia’s fourth apperance on ABC so far in 2024. Games with the Gators and Georgia Tech mean that UGA Football will play at least six games on ABC this season. Contests with Ole Miss and Tennessee will likely be on ABC as well.

Both of those losses eliminated the chance that ABC would have the ability to put on a Third Saturday in October matchup of undefeated, top-five teams. That game will kickoff at 3:30 on ABC and lead into Georgia-Texas.
ABC could have the largest audience for a Saturday in some time with the marquee matchups. The Dawgs, Vols, Tide and Horns are all ranked in the top ten heading into this critical matchup.
Georgia faces Mississippi State in Athens this Saturday. Texas plays Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry in Dallas. Both games kick in the afternoon.
