ATHENS - UGA Football QB Carson Beck is dealing with an injury, coach Kirby Smart told reporters Tuesday night.

Kirby confirmed that Beck is dealing with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder. Beck has practiced twice this week, Kirby said - adding: "We’ve had like seven (AC joint) injuries. That's not a significant or major injury. Carson's fine - he's practiced both days.”

Beck ended the night against Kentucky going 15 of 24 for 160 yards. It is the fewest amount of passing yards Beck has throw for in his 16 games as a starting quarterback.

“It’s not easy,” Beck said after No. 1 UGA’s 13-12 win over the Wildcats. “Especially on the road. You go back and look at two road SEC games in the past three years. Missouri 2022, dog fight. Last year, (at) Auburn, dog fight. This year, dog fight. We knew it was going to be a dog fight coming in. We knew it was gonna have to be blow by blow. I think there’s a thing we have to fix. Going to watch the film and improve on those. They’re a physical team and a lot of respect there, but we were able to pull it out.”

Kirby said he was happy with Beck after the win.

“Carson is a great leader. He didn't panic,” Kirby said. “He made plays when he had to. Look, the last drive of the game, he had to go play and make throws. He did. He ran the ball. He put us in the right plays. He's a really good football player that we put a lot on and asked to do a lot. We've got to do a better job of protecting him, and we've got to put him in better situations.”
