ATHENS - Kirby Smart and UGA Football just landed a MASSIVE commitment in the 2026 class.

Do-it-all athlete, Jontavius Wyman‍.

One of the top overall prospects in Georgia, Wyman is a dynamic prospect who can make an impact in all three phases of the game.

His position in Athens will likely start out in the secondary, but Wyman is also a game-changer on offense as a receiver and as a return man on special teams.

No matter where he’s lined up, Wyman has the ability to score.

The lean 6-foot-0 170-pounder out of Jonesboro committed to Georgia over schools like Georgia Tech, Florida State, among others.

According to FanDuel, the Georgia Bulldogs have -600 odds to make the 2024 College Football Playoffs next season.

What is Georgia getting in Wyman?

They’re getting one of the more versatile prospects in the state.

A natural athlete with outstanding ball skills and big-play ability, Wyman scored 11 touchdowns on the season and did it in four different ways.

Offensively, Wyman caught 37 passes for 602 yards and seven touchdowns. He gets open, shows strong hands, and knows how leap and catch the ball at it’s highest point over defenders. He also ran the ball 10 times for 77 yards and even threw for 286 yards and five more touchdowns.

On special teams, Wyman returned 14 punts for 203 yards and one touchdown. He can make defenders miss in the open field and is always one of the fastest players on the field.

Defensively, Wyman can play both cornerback and safety with enough closing speed to cover a ton of ground down in zone coverage. A technically sound tackler, Wyman made 37 stops and two TFLs last year. He was a turnover machine in coverage, picking off five passes and returning them back 161 yards. He returned two interceptions back for touchdowns and returned one fumble recovery for a touchdown as well.

That’s 16 touchdowns in five different ways. He’s a football magnet. The football just finds him. All the time.

And he did it all as a sophomore.

Of course, if he does end up in the secondary, he’ll give Georgia a long, instincive defensive back who can read the quarterback. He shows a quick, balanced back pedal and shows a natural nose for the ball. He can run, jump, and most importantly, tackle. He’s fundamentally sound, but he’ll be even better once he gets to Athens and can add some solid muscle.

This is a massive addition and someone the staff is obviously high on. His best football is way ahead of him, and he’s bound for another gigantic season this fall as a junior.

There’s still a long way to go as Wyman will likely be pursued by some big programs over the next year and a half, but it’s a good sign to get him on the commit list early on.

Wyman is ranked as the No. 15 CB prospect and the No.177 overall prospect in the 2026 class.
