UGA Football QB Carson Beck Named 1st Team All-SEC
ATHENS - UGA Football quarterback Carson Beck was named first team SEC quarterback on Friday, the league announced.
It is the first time that a UGA QB has been named 1st team All-SEC since David Greene in 2002. Beck announced in December that he would return to UGA for his final season of college football. He led the Bulldogs to a 13-1 season in 2023.
Beck was positioned to be UGA's starter going into the 2023 season, but and not nailed down the starting spot before fall camp started. "He's certainly the leader, but hasn't done enough to say he's the starter," Kirby told ESPN in July.
Beck was under center as the Dawgs' starter as Georgia started the season with four home games in a row. But it was a road win at Auburn when Beck arrived in college football.

“I think that was a big growing moment for me,” he told Dawg Post. “It was a big stepping stone to who I was going to become. We had to face adversity in that game.”
Beck hit Brock Bowers for the game-winning 40-yard touchdown to beat the Tigers 27-20. Beck ended the day going 23 for 33 for 313 yards.
From there Beck's performances took off. He threw for 389 yards and four touchdowns vs. No. 20 Kentucky. He went for 315 against the Gators. Beck threw two touchdowns in Georgia's win over No. 12 Missouri. He then threw for 604 yards and five touchdowns in back-to-back blowout wins over No. 9 Ole Miss, at No. 18 Tennessee and vs. No. 5 Florida State in the Orange Bowl.
Beck was named first-team All-SEC beating out Texas QB Quinn Ewers and Alabama QB Jalen Milroe. 15 total Bulldogs were named All-SEC, the league said Friday.
