ATHENS - UGA football are confirmed Tuesday that G Day would be on the second Saturday in April. 

The move means the Dawgs will have their spring game on the Saturday of the Masters, which takes place in Augusta. UGA Football did not list a time for the event, but it has never been at night and has often kicked off in the very early afternoon. 

It is unclear if the Bulldogs will be playing on ESPN as has been the case recently, but UGA did say tick information and TV details would be coming soon. Often the SEC releases all of its league school’s TV information for spring football game dates at the same time. 

UGA indicated that tickets will be available for the event. 

Recently Georgia avoided playing on the same weekend as the Masters, but TV could be dictating when the Dawgs have their spring game. Last year, UGA held its spring game a week later in April. 

Georgia is considered the betting favorite to win the 2024 national title in college football. The Dawgs will open the 2024 season against Clemson at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on the first Saturday of the season. Games against Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia Tech and the Gators highlight another season for Kirby Smart’s squad. 

Georgia finished 2023 ranked No. 4 by the Associated Press going 13-1 with a 63-3 win over No. 5 Florida State in the Orange Bowl.
