ATHENS - UGA Football’s Kirby Smart has found the program’s new defensive backs coach.
Donte Williams, who was on staff at USC, is set to be announced as the Bulldogs’ new defensive backs coach. UGA has not confirmed the news as of 6 PM
“I would like to thank Coach Helton, Coach Riley, and all the amazing coaches I was able to work with and learn from these past four years at USC,“ Williams said in a statement on social media - confirming that he’s left USC.
The No. 5 Bulldogs are set to take on Florida State in the Orange Bowl. It is not clear if Williams will join the program in Miami. Fran Brown, who left UGA to become the head coach at Syracuse, was the Dawgs’ defensive backs coach.
