ATHENS - Kirby Smart and No. 1 UGA football are off to Rocky Top to take on the No. 21 Tennessee Vols this Saturday afternoon in the final SEC East game ever between the two schools. Here is what will happen this weekend for the Dawgs and all over college football... according to the Dawg Post crew.
According to FanDuel, the Bulldogs still have outstanding +250 odds to win the national championship for the third consecutive season.
No. 16 Utah (+1) at No. 19 Arizona | P12N |2:30 PM
Matt’s Pick: Not picking Arizona at home. Not doing it. They’re a hot team, but Utah will drop them back down. I think their defense can make enough plays on the road. Strong, bounce-back win on the road for the Utes. Utah (+1).
Ryan’s Pick: NOTE: It seems fishy that Dean has caught up with me on these picks. I demand a recount.
Man, I hate this, but I am going with Arizona (-1) at home. I am not sure that home field advantage completely exists for the Wildcats. It is more about the game not being in Utah, and I would have to pick the Utes in that case. Arizona is not bad! In fact, the Wildcats are kinda good. I know these guys are not picking Arizona. Join the dark side over here.
Dean’s Pick: Here comes Ryan with his demands. Here's what I demand Ryan: No more updates about the Falcons - or the Hawks for that matter.
I'm going to take the Utes (+1) here. I think they get down to the desert and get a win straight up, so I will take the free point as well.
No. 22 North Carolina (+6.5) at Clemson | ESPN |3:30 PM
Matt’s Pick: Do the Tigers have their act together? Maybe not completely, but they’re heading in the right direction. I’ll take the Tigers to win this game at home. They’ll benefit from the crowd and they have several young players stepping up each week. I like their receivers. They have lots of talent on defense. If Dabo can be competent and Klubnik takes care of the ball, they can win by a touchdown. Give me Clemson (-6.5).
Ryan’s Pick: It is hard to pass up on taking the better team with the points. I like giving Drake Maye and the Tar Heels a touchdown to start the game. News flash: Clemson is still the same Clemson from earlier this season. Go with North Carolina (+6.5).
Dean’s Pick: Give me the Taters (-6.5). This is a bigger game for Clemson than folks realize outside of the Anderson TV market. Clemson fans have this conspiracy theory about how North Carolina conspired to get the ACC to put the Tigers on probation in the early 1980s or some jibber jabber or another.
No... you got our on probation, because like the Michigan due process Wolverines, you cheated and got caught. I can't wait for the fans to not the rush the field on this one.

No. 23 Kansas State (-8) at Kansas | FS1 |7:00 PM
Matt’s Pick: Rivalry week in Kansas. You have to love it. I like this Kansas State team, but I don’t like this line on the road. The Jayhawks are coming off a bad loss to Texas Tech, but that’s because they had their eyes set on this one. They’re locked in and will give State a real fight at home. Jayhawks (+8).
Ryan’s Pick: Kansas State (-8) is the better team. I don’t know how much being at home matters for Kansas. I’m asking. Does it? Jason Bean is probably going to play, and he has been electrifying at points. I’ve picked against the Jayhawks this year, and I am doing it again.
Dean’s Pick: I will take Kansas State (-8). Why are the Wildcats giving so many points on the road? Sometimes Vegas is trying to tell you something.
The Gators (+11.5) at No. 11 Missouri | ESPN |7:30 PM
Matt’s Pick: This Missouri team is out for blood. They’re a tough, physical team, and they’ll punch Florida in the mouth. They’re really good at home, and at night, I think they’ll pour it on Florida. Missouri -11.5.
Ryan’s Pick: I’ve got Missouri (-11.5) in this one with some confidence. The Tigers just smacked Tennessee. The committee awarded Mizzou with the No. 9 ranking. This is a really good football team, and the Gators are not going to be able to keep up. Missouri’s defense is not LSU’s defense.
Dean’s Pick: Man, Florida is a wreck right now. I have no real faith in them. The Gators are going to have to slither nearly halfway across the country to play in the middle of nowhere, and Disney had the audacity to put this game on in primetime on ESPN.
To be honest, I am surprised Missouri isn't favored by more, and that's the reason I am taking Mizzou (-11.5). This is going to be another very long end of the year for the Gators. If I told you the Gators would have three losing seasons in a row, and five losing seasons in 11 years heading into this season would you have believed me?
We are on the doorstep of that happening. Georgia was never this bad in the 1990s - not even close.
No. 7 Texas (-7.5) at Iowa State | FOX |8:00 PM
Matt’s Pick: Oh man. This might be the game where Texas trips up. On the road, at night, against a Cyclone team that’s been played well over the last several weeks. The ‘Clones are having a nice season and have a chance to cause some chaos. I think they get it done. Upset city, baby. Iowa State (+7.5).
Ryan’s Pick: I don’t get why Quinn Ewers is rated as a top-10 or 15 pick. I said it. I don’t see it right now. I also think Alabama would spank Texas in a rematch today. I have Iowa State (+7.5) covering in this one, and maybe winning too.
Dean’s Pick: I'm going to roll with the Cyclones here. I am not sure if Texas is capable of losing this game - but they are more than capable of making it way closer than it should be. The Horns are playing to the level of their competition, and it feels like they've got one more loss in them before the Selection Sunday. Could that be this week? Give me Iowa State (+7.5).
Kentucky (-2) at South Carolina | SECN |7:30 PM
Matt’s Pick: Man what an ugly game. Both teams have had forgettable seasons. I’ll take Carolina at home. They’re bound to accidentally run into an SEC home win. I don’t Kentucky for one second right now. Night game in Columbia, I’ll take the Gamecocks (+2).
Ryan’s Pick: As it turns out, this Kentucky team is not that good. Dropping four of the last five is rough, and now it will have to go to Columbia and listen to chicken noises while Spencer Rattler throws touchdowns. South Carolina (+2).
Dean’s Pick: So Kentucky continues to slump at the end of the year. We've got some simp in the Red & Black complaining about Georgia fans calling UK a basketball school.
"This type of behavior has taken away from my enjoyment of home games," he wrote.
Bro, don't make it so obvious you were home schooled, and get me one of them unused airplane bottles while you are at it. I’m just glad when I leave other SEC stadiums when I don’t get urine thrown in my direction that night.
You think Kentucky fans got it bad in Athens? They play in Cootlumbia Saturday night.
Tetanus. Barbed wire. Having to drive on any road in South Carolina - that's what its like out there. Playing on the road isn't fun. It isn't supposed to be. Pass Shane Beamer his sunglasses, and give me the Cocks (+2) to fully asphyxiate what's left of the Cats' season.
No. 21 Tennessee (+10.5) vs. No. 1 Georgia | CBS |3:30 PM
Matt’s Pick: I think Tennessee will fight hard, but Georgia pulls away and covers in the end. The Vols are a banged up team and I just can;t see them scoring much on these Bulldogs. Georgia’s a second half team. Tennessee isn’t. Bulldogs run big on the Vols and cruise in the 4th quarter. Give me Georgia (-10.5).
Ryan’s Pick: This is the game for Georgia that was circled on the calendar by the media during the preseason. Georgia only circles the game that is next, but that is the Vols this time, who are exactly who I thought they were- a very, very similar team to last year, but a step or two down due to talent leaving. Georgia (-10.5) is playing well enough for me to take it to cover this line confidently.
Dean’s Pick: I got the Dawgs (-10.5). I bet UT comes out and gives it the old college try, but Georgia is just too steady, and the Vols are great at being inconsistent. Are the Vols going to run for 200+ yards on the Dawgs? That is a major part of what UT does. If the Vols have success on the ground it will be a game for a while. But no one has really been balanced against UGA outside of Missouri.
And Missouri couldn't stop Georgia for 60 minutes. In addition, Tennessee has averaged 20 points a game in SEC play in their last four games... that's not great going up against this defense. Dawgs on top.
