ATHENS - The No.1-ranked Georgia Bulldogs are on top of the college football world and are coming off a blowout 52-17 victory over Ole Miss this past weekend.
The Bulldogs crushed the Rebels inside Sanford Stadium on Saturday night, and there were plenty of top commitments and targets in town to watch it all go down.
One big commitment in town was four-star linebacker, Kristopher Jones. A versatile defender who can play both inside and outside linebacker, Jones stands at 6-foot-3 220-pounds and ranked as the No. 11 linebacker prospect in the country.
Unfortunately, Jones is sidelined with an injury that will cost him the rest of his senior season, but the Virginia native was back in Athens this past weekend and gave Dawg Post a quick recap of his visit.

“The thing that stood out the most is how Georgia stood behind their freshman that played yesterday. CJ Allen and Raylen Wilson both played good games and even though they made mistakes the staff let them stay out there and learn from it. The fans make Sanford a special place. It feels like a big family reunion. The place was electric.”
“I talked with coach Glenn Schumann and coach Smart before and after the game. We mostly talked about my recovery and move in day in January. I talked to Nolan Smith and he told me I’m going to love UGA. I saw CJ Allen and told him he had a great game.”
As a prospect, Jones is an excellent pass-rusher with length for days who loves to get after the quarterback. His work ethic is something the Georgia staff loves about him, so look for him to cross-train at multiple linebacker positions.
Jones has a lean but solid frame and plenty of speed, running a 4.58 laser-timed 40-yard dash. He’s full of potential with a long wingspan that allows him to shed blocks with ease. He’s explosive off the snap, bends well around the edge, and knows how to deliver a big hit in the backfield. He shows a great motor with the ability to create pressure and chaos in the backfield.
A sure-tackler, Jones knows how to wrap up properly and make a big tackle in space. When he does deliver a solid blow, more often than not, the ball-carrier is going backwards.
Jones is perfect not only for Schumann’s defense, but for Georgia’s program. He loves to compete, isn’t worried about the depth chart, loves to work, and wants to win. His work ethic is something multiple sources have raved about. At the end of the day, Jones has extremely high expectations for himself, and he knew that if he wants to be the best player he can be, that he needed to play for Glenn Schumann and the Georgia Bulldogs.
