ATHENS - Kirby Smart and No. 1 UGA football welcomes the UAB Blazers Between the Hedges on Saturday. Here is what will happen this weekend for the Dawgs and all over college football... according to the Dawg Post crew.

Florida State (-2) at Clemson | ABC |12 PM

Matt’s Pick: Am I missing soemthing here? FSU barely squaked by a BAD Boston College team, but Clemson still stinks. I know they’re playing at home, but they aren’t better than Florida State. Give me the ‘Noles -2.

Ryan’s Pick: Yeah, I’ll take Florida State (-2) to cover. I don’t trust Clemson. Last week was not good for the Seminoles. You can’t dance around with Boston College in the fourth quarter, but I don’t trust Clemson. I’ll take the contender.

Dean’s PickI've got the Taters (+2) in the one. I'm not sure why this line is so low, but it is blaring sirens and flashing red lights for me. Florida State is clearly much better than Clemson - I don't care that Boston College pushed the Noles to the edge last weekend.

So why is this line so low? What does someone else know about this that I don't? Clearly something. Even as the better team on the road, you would think this line should be a little higher than this for FSU. And yet is is not. Why? What's happening in this ACC AFTER DARK! noon kickoff? I'm puzzled, and when I am puzzled I take points.

Colorado (+21) at Oregon | ABC |3:30 PM

Matt’s Pick: Colorado looked bad against State. No Travis Hunter. I get it. But that’s a lot of points. Too many. Give me the ‘Buffs +21.

Ryan’s Pick: I am confident that Oregon will win this game, and I was tempted to take the Ducks to cover. Colorado is a lot of fun, but the magic is going to run out eventually, especially when Travis Hunter is not available. Oregon has not played anyone either, so I don’t know who the Ducks are yet.  21 points is a little too much for me, but I was close to doing it. Colorado (+21) loses for the first time this year, but they will cover.

Dean’s Pick: So I think Colorado loses this week - and I think there are a few reasons why: A) This is the best team they have played... by a lot; B) Losing Travis Hunter really, really hurts; C) League play isn't like other games. Will Colorado shock the world and pull another upset? How shocking is this anymore? We've seen how good CU is on offense... the issue is defense. Don't look now, but Oregon has scored 81, 38 and 55. Oregon wins, but play me my theme music (+21).

UCLA (+4.5) at Utah | FOX |3:30 PM

Matt’s Pick: I like UCLA, but Utah’s tough to beat on the road. Give me Utah -4.5.

Ryan’s Pick

Dean’s Pick: Pac 12 say game out in the mountains. Give me the Utes (-4.5) to cover this one.

Ole Miss (+7) at Alabama | CBS |3:30 PM

Matt’s Pick: I want to pick Alabama. I don’t want to go against Nick Saban. But I just don’t beleive in Milroe. Kiffin needs to beat Saban at some point, and this is the year to do it. I’ll take Ole Miss +7.

Ryan’s Pick: I’m going to give Nick Saban and Alabama the benefit of the doubt. Saban is going back to Jalen Milroe for this one, and after eveyrthing so far, he gives them the best chance. Alabama losing this game would really feel like the end of soemthign special. Alabama losing two games in the first month of the season? I’m not sure I can buy that yet. I’ll take Alabama (-7) to cover in a fight.

Dean’s Pick: Alright. Is Lane Kiffin going to finally drive a wooden stake through Nick Saban's heart, or is he going to continue to be Lane Kiffin? I'm not sure this time. Lane is 0-3 against Saban, and usually loses by two touchdowns or so. The line is at a touchdown. Is Alabama really dead? I will take the Black Bears (+7), but my guess is Alabama wins this game because that's what they do. If not...

Iowa (+14.5) at Penn State | CBS |7:30 PM

Matt’s Pick: I believe Iowa is a little better than people think. Just have a gut feeling they’ll fight hard and keep this one closer than people think. I’ll take Iowa +14.5

Ryan’s Pick: Penn State’s white out is a cool college football tradition. Some of us seem to be angry about that. I like the Nittany Lions (-14.5). I can see this being a really boring B1G game.

Dean’s Pick:  Penn State fan: DO YOU HEAR THIS IS PENN STATE'S WHITE OUT GAME?

Everyone else: And?

Give me Penn State (-14.5). No one cares about your gimmick.

Oregon State (-3) at Washington State | FOX |7 PM

Matt’s Pick: State plays different at home. I like the quarterback. I think this is where the Beavers slip. I’ll take Washington State +3.

Ryan’s Pick: This game just screams wacky. Washington State (+3).

Dean’s Pick: I've seen Oregon State a few times so far this season, and this is a solid team. I get why they are favored in this one. Washington State has been very good as well. But I do think that the Beavers are a little bit better. I think Oregon State (-3) wins and covers in this one.

Ohio State (-3.5) at Notre Dame | NBC |7 PM

Matt’s Pick: Oh man. I like this Irish team. Better quarterback for sure. Entire team playing well At home. Give me the Irish +3.5

Ryan’s Pick: Who wants to show everybody that they are legit? I am not sold that either of these teams are true contenders yet. I have changed my mind from what I said in the YouTube edition of this story. I think that talent will win out in this one, so I’ll go with the Buckeyes (-3.5).

Dean’s Pick: Ohio State is still talking about losing to Georgia in the Peach Bowl a year ago... Yikes. Eager to see the outcome of this one, and I might watch more of it than you would expect considering some gameday roles at Dawg Post this weekend. Ohio State is probably the more gifted team, but no one seems overly impressed with them. I have not seen enough of them yet to really make a pronouncement. I have seen a lot of Notre Dame, and you are not going to play sloppy and beat the Irish this year. Give me the home underdog - Notre Dame (+3.5).

UAB (+41.5) at UGA Football | ESPN2 |7:30 PM

Matt’s Pick: Georgia’s going to blow them out. But if these games keep flying by, and the backups give up some points defensively, I think it might be tough to cover this one. That’s a lot of points. I’ll take UAB (+41.5).

Ryan’s Pick: Georgia bounces back from tough games pretty well. Look at the last two seasons. Yeah, I know we should stop looking in the past, but Georgia is too talented on offense to keep struggling to score at will. Once again, I will take the Dawgs (-41.5) to cover a huge line.

Dean’s PickI am taking the Dawgs (-41.5) in this one. I think a week of tweaking things is going to matter. The final game before the real start of the season is the time to get a lot right. I think that happens this weekend in Athens.

Season ATS

Matt 11-14-2

Ryan 12-13-2
