ATHENS - The latest AP Poll was released on Sunday, and as expected, the Georgia Bulldogs remain the No. 1 team in the country.

In fact, according to FanDuel, the Bulldogs still have +230 odds to win the national title this year.

But one AP poll voter, ESPN analyst and Alabama alumni Rece Davis, kept the Bulldogs at No. 3 in his ballot. For the second consecutive week.

This came one day after Georgia beat Ball State by 42 points.

Davis has Florida State No. 1, Michigan No. 2, and then Georgia at No. 3.

Maybe Davis is tired of hearing about Georgia. Maybe he thinks Georgia’s slow start in both games was a little much. I don’t know.

Yes, Florida State’s win was impressive. The ‘Noles looked better than most thought they would. But LSU also looked worse than most thought they would. FSU looked like a top-5 team in the opening weekend and then beat “cupcake” Southern Miss by 53 points in week two.

Congrats, Florida State. You’re finally relevant again.

But to have them No. 1? Over a 2-0 back-to-back national champion?

Is this purely based on the eye test? Or the team with the best win? I need some clarification here....

If we’re putting the team with the best win at No. 1, then it would be Texas. They beat a strong Alabama team on the road. In impressive fashion. This isn’t the same Alabama we’re used to seeing, but it’s still an Alabama team loaded with talent, although they have a giant question mark at quarterback.

After beating Alabama the way they did, you’d think Davis would move the ‘Horns higher than No.4.

But he didn’t.

So Florida State is his No. 1. Okay. They were No. 1 going into week two for Davis, and they stayed there heading into week three.

He also kept Michigan at No. 2. There’s no reason, whatsoever, why Michigan should be ranked higher than Georgia. They beat EAST CAROLINA, a party school, by only 27 points. Then they beat UNLV, a former basketball school, but just 27 points.

And Davis still thinks they’re better than Georgia? Or accomplished more? I still don’t know.

If anything, Michigan has been somewhat disappointing to start the season. You could try saying the same about Georgia, but at least the ‘Dawgs beat their cupcake by 40+ points.

Seriously. What are we doing here?

Davis was only one of five voters who didn’t have Georgia No.1 in their AP ballot this week.

Is there an anti-Georgia agenda going on? Or does Reece Davis watch the games differently than I do?

Of course, this is what makes college football great. It’s an imperfect game, and everyone has their own, sometimes crazy, opinion.

I respect Reece Davis, but his current ballot doesn’t make a ton of sense.
