KENNESSAW-  Georgia Bulldog QB commit Dylan Raiola played like a 5-star over the weekend.

After a solid week one performance and a week two win over Mallard Creek, Georgia’s elite quarterback commit carved up the North Cobb defense on the way to a big 45-28 Buford win.

Raiola was 12-16 (75%) on the night for 278 yards and three touchdowns. He also led the Wolves to 5/7 on 3rd Down.

He was as good as it gets. A near-perfect night. He showed off tremendous arm talent along with impressive accuracy all night long.

He made good decisions with the football, threw the ball accurately down the field, and distributed the ball effectively to multiple receivers.

He showed great pocket awareness, good footwork, and did a great job of hitting his receivers in stride. When the Wolves needed a big play, Raiola delivered.

North Cobb scored a touchdown on their opening drive, but two big strikes from Raiola, with one resulting in a touchdown, got the Wolves on the board. His first touchdown was on a line to junior playmaker Devin Williams who ran a slant towards the middle of the field. Raiola hit him on the run, with Williams gliding easily into the end-zone.

Raiola’s second touchdown came later in the first half. Near the end-zone, Raiola faked a handoff and found Jordan Allen in the back of the end-zone. He floated a ball his way and Allen came down with it easily. Too easy.

The third touchdown was the dagger. That put the game away. Late in the 4th quarter, facing a 3rd down, Raiola hit 5-star KJ Bolden deep down the side-line for a 50-yard score. The ball was beautifully thrown, hitting Bolden perfectly in stride.

Raiola hit another deep ball that only a few select quarterbacks can make. He threw a ball 55 yards in the air to a perfect spot, hitting a diving Jordan Allen inside the 5-yard line. It was an easy NFL-caliber throw. A throw you’d expect 5-stars to make.

He made all the throws on Friday night. He dissected the North Cobb defense, executed the game-plan, and played with incredibly poise against a very talented team.

Buford offensive coordinator Gus Condon spoke with Dawg Post about Raiola’s progress at Buford and what makes him such a special quarterback.

“More impressive than his numbers is his poise,” Condon said. “The ability to command the offense after a short time of being here. He knows what we are about, what we believe in, and what it’s supposed to look like. No one in the building prepares harder and is more intentional with preparation than him. Not only on the grass, but in the meeting and film room. He knew North Cobb pressures before they ran them. They got home one time, not because he had the protection wrong, we just simply lost a match up, up front. He makes one or two throws every day where you think, ‘that was the best throw I’ve seen’, then he goes and out does it again.”

IF Raiola continues to play better and better throughout the rest of the season, the Wolves are going to be tough to stop. He has elite arm talent, but he’s also throwing to elite talent. He’s got speedy receivers all over the place. Guys who can score any time they touch the ball.

Raiola hasn’t been a Buford long, but he’s already turning into a leader. He’s taken command of the offense, and he’s only going to get better as he continues to build chemistry with his receivers.

His performance against North Cobb was flawless, and he’s just getting started. Look for more big games from Raiola and the Wolves throughout the rest of the fall.
