ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs broke more records over the weekend during the 2023 NFL Draft, producing 10 more draft selections into the league.
Smart has built an “NFL Factory” at Georgia, and next year’s NFL Draft class could be even bigger than the record-breaking 2022 draft class.
Which Bulldogs could hear their name called in the 1st round next year? Who has the chance to be drafted at all?
Let’s take a look...
Georgia Bulldogs TE Brock Bowers
This is an easy one. With another massive season, the Napa, California native could leave Athens next season as the greatest tight end in college football history. The 6-foot-4 230-pounder is an elite athlete with incredible speed, ball skills, and toughness. He’s the ultimate competitor and it’s hard to imagine him not being selected in the top-10.
An AP and Coaches' All-SEC First Team selection and the John Mackey Award winner, Bowers played in all 15 games, starting in 14, catching 63 catches for 942 yards and seven touchdowns. There’s nobody like him in college football, and he has big NFL future ahead of him down the road.
The Arizona Cardinals may be the worst team in the NFL next year with just -1600 odds to make the playoffs according to FanDuel. If they don’t select a quarterback, there’s a chance we could see another Bulldog selected No. 1 overall if Bowers continues to dominate next fall.

Georgia Bulldogs OL Amarius Mims
The former 5-star prospect looks like a giant and coming off a really impressive season at right tackle in 2022 when Warren McClendon was sidelined. The Bulldogs are turning into “Offensive Tackle University” right now, and Mims could be the latest Georgia tackle selected in the first round. A good athlete with impressive footwork for his size, Mims stands at a massive 6-foot-7 330-pounds and will have NFL GMs drooling over him during next year’s combine. IF he continues to dominate at right tackle next fall, Mims could easily hear his name called in the 1st-round next year.
Georgia Bulldogs QB Carson Beck
With a big 2023 season, why not? Everyone knows about Caleb Williams and Drake Maye, but as we all know, Beck and the other Bulldog QBs will be surrounded with plenty of talent and an outstanding offensive line next fall. The quarterback position appears to be Beck’s to lose, and he’ll be in a position to have an outstanding 2023 season. He has NFL caliber size, and he has a chance to show NFL-caliber arm talent this season as well. If Beck can lead Georgia to another national championship and throw up some good numbers, he may have a real chance of hearing his name called in the 1st-round next year.
Georgia Bulldogs LB Smael Mondon
A former 5-star prospect from Georgia’s excellent 2021 class, Mondon had a big 2022 season at inside linebacker, filling some big shoes left by Nakobe Dean, Channing Tindall, and Quay Walker. A great athlete with NFL-caliber size at 6-foot-3 220-pounds, Mondon can run, hit, and has developed more and more throughout his Bulldog career. Mondon lead the team in tackles last season with 76 stops, along with 8 TFLs, one sack against Ohio State, and an early INT against LSU in the 2022 SEC Championship game. Defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann is well-respected among NFL coaches and GMs, so you know just about every organization will due their research on the playmaking linebacker next year. Mondon could certainly be Georgia’s next 1st-round linebacker selection with a big 2023 season.
