ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs desperately need an elite offensive lineman or two in this current 2024 class, and this week Dawg Post has learned that they’ll be hosting one of the nation’s best on an official visit in June.
That would be five-star offensive tackle, Brandon Baker.
The 2024 class is down at offensive tackle compared to recent years, but Baker is the best of the best, and the Mater Dei (CA) standout confirmed to Dawg Post this week that he’ll be taking his official visit to Georgia the weekend of June 23rd.
The big 6-foot-5 285-pounder was in Athens for his first visit last week and gave Dawg Post a quick recap of what he enjoyed most.
“Man, the OL room coach Searels is building is special”, Baker told Dawg Post. “It’s a great one for sure. I love the environment of the room and love the way Georgia plays ball.”

When asked what makes Georgia feel special and what separates them from everyone else, Baker had just one word to say.
“Winning”.
Pretty simple. The Georgia Bulldogs have always been able to recruit nationally, but now that they’re back-to-back champions, recruiting in California seems just as easy as recruiting in the peach state. Everyone knows about the Georgia football program, and prospects across the country are flocking to Athens to check out the program in person.
An athletic big-man with versatility, Baker has played all along the Mater Dei offensive line during his career but dominated at right tackle during the 2022 season. He moves extremely well for his size and does a great job of latching onto defenders and burying them in the ground in the run game. His physical style opens up plenty of holes on the right side, and he proved to be a reliable pass protector as well. He shows quick feet and burst when pulling to the left side, something that coach Searels loves to see from his big tackles.
The Bulldogs have just one offensive line on the commit list right now in three-star Malachi Toliver, so expect Georgia to make a big run for Baker during his official visit this summer. Sources say Georgia climbed high on his list after last week’s visit to the Classic City, so he’s one Georgia fans need to keep a close eye on.
Baker is ranked in the On3 Industry rankings as the as the No. 1 OT prospect, the No. 2 prospect in California, and the No. 26 overall prospect in the country.
