ATHENS - Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldog Released a hype film for Saturday’s G Day game Between the Hedges in Athens.

Most observers will be watching the quarterback fight between Carson Beck and Brock Vandagriff. Beck came into the spring as Stetson Bennett’s backup. But Kirby Smart made clear that Beck and Vandagriff would compete for the starting job this spring.

“They'll both rep with the ones. As far as how much, that will play itself out over the course of spring,” Kirby said at the start of the spring. “I'm excited to see what those guys can do. They've been excited about meeting and doing things with Coach Bobo and the offensive staff. I'm excited to see those guys go practice and compete.”

callers for the Bulldogs were on the roster a season ago.

“We think we have three really good quarterbacks, and I'm really excited about all three of those guys to grow and get better,” he said.

The addition of Mike Bobo as offensive coordinator is the biggest change from a season ago, and that will be on full display Saturday.

“I have a lot of confidence in Mike with the job he has done with offenses in the past,” Kirby said.

The Bulldogs finished the 2022 season undefeated for the first time since 1980. Georgia’s 65-7 win over TCU in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game was the program’s second in as many seasons.

No program has gone back-to-back as national champions since Alabama reached that accomplishment with Kirby serving as Nick Saban’s defensive coordinator in 2011-12. Georgia’s Stetson Bennett completed his long journey in college football as one of the few signal callers to win the national title as a starter in two seasons.

Bennett’s improbable march to the mountaintop doesn’t match the rest of the Dawgs’ powerful program, which is loaded with five- and high-star recruits who were coveted by nearly every program in the nation.
