ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have had a wild month of March both on the field, and on the recruiting trail, and the month of April will be no different.

Dawg Post confirmed that Smart and his staff will be hosting some top targets this weekend including multiple 5-star prospects who will be in town to check out practice.

On Friday, the staff will have 5-star EDGE Dylan Stewart‍ on campus. As we reported earlier this week, the elite pass-rusher from D.C thinks highly of Georgia, but sources continue to say that Alabama and Ohio State are likely the two teams out in front for the 5-star defender with South Carolina, Florida, Colorado, and a few others also still in the mix.

The 6-foot-5 235-pounder was in Athens in mid-January to take in Georgia's national championship parade and confirmed with Dawg Post again this week that he’ll be in town on Friday. As a junior last year, Stewart made 16 sacks, proving to be one of the top overall pass-rushers and EDGE defenders in the country.

Thee 247 Composite Rankings have Steward ranked as the No. 2 EDGE defender and the No. 10 overall prospect in the 2024 class.

Another 5-star prospect in town is elite athlete, Sammy Brown‍, who will be in town to watch Georgia’s practice on Saturday.

A do-it-all player for the nearby Jefferson Dragons, Brown is an exceptional athlete who also shines in track and in the weight room. At 6-foot-2 225-pounds, Brown power cleans 395-pounds and can squat close to 600-pounds.

Brown is having an incredible high school career so far, and as a junior last season, he rushed 181 times for 1,459 yards and 21 touchdowns. Brown is being recruited by Glenn Schumann to play linebacker, and he was extremely productive there last season, making 113 tackles, five TFLs, four pass-breakups, one sack, and one INT.

Sources say Brown will take official visits to Georgia, Clemson, Tennessee, Ohio State, and Oklahoma in June before making his college commitment in July. Right now, Dawg Post believes Clemson leads Georgia in his recruitment.

Dawg Post also confirmed that one of the nation’s top running back prospect, high four-star Taylor Tatum‍, also plans to visit Georgia on Saturday, April 1st.

The dynamic 5-foot-11 205-pounder out of Longview (TX) is ranked in the 247 Composite as the No. 3 RB prospect, the No. 6 prospect in Texas, and thee No. 35 overall prospect in the country. Assistant Dell McGee already has one impressive running back on the commit list in speedy four-star Dwight Phillips, JR‍, and sources say the staff would love to welcome Tatum with open arms if he wanted to jump on board.

Taylor ran through defenses on a consistent basis last year as a junior, carrying the ball 206 times for 1,840 yards and an eye-opening 33 touchdowns, leading his Longview team to a 14-1 record and a spot in the Texas 5A D-I state semifinals.

Tatum also runs a 22.05 in the 200-meter and is a star baseball player for Longview as well. Getting him in Athens is a BIG deal as the Bulldogs hope to cement themselves as a top contender in his recruitment moving forward.

Another in-state prospect who plans to be in town on Saturday is two-way standout Amir Jackson out of Portal (GA). The big 6-foot-5 220-pound wide receiver/safety from Southeast Georgia is a big-play machine with plenty of size and the ability to snag the ball out of the air. He has a long, athletic frame and can out-jump smaller defenders in jump-ball situations. As a defender, he roams the middle of the field like a lion just waiting to strike. He comes downhill in a hurry and knows how to deliver a hit and drive the ball-carrier backwards. As a pass-catcher, he’s a big target down the field but knows how to break tackles and pick up yards after the catch.  He was consistently one of the best players on the field and saw his recruitment take off in January. The Bulldogs offered on February 7th, so he's a prospect to keep a close eye on.
