ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs offered one of the nation’s top 2024 prospects this week.

That would be 5-star wide receiver, Ryan Wingo‍.

It took a lot longer than Ringo wanted, but now the 6-foot-2 205-pounder out St. Louis University (MO) holds the big offer he’s wanted for a while.

In the spring on 2022, Wingo reached out to Dawg Post asking, “Do you think I’m on UGA’s radar?” That was a tough question to answer at the time, because the current 5-star admitted that he had not been in communication with the Georgia staff.

At that time, it looked like the answer was “no”. Now, it’s safe to say Wingo is clearly on Georgia’s radar after earning an offer on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs already have two wide receiver commitments on board in 4-star Ny Carr (Colquitt County) and 3-star Sacovie White (Cass). While White appears to be 100% committed, Car is still open to visiting other schools and recently made a trip down to Auburn with somee Colquitt County teammates.

It remains to be seen how many receivers the Bulldogs will sign in the 2024 class, but if Wingo can get to Athens and show he’s legitimately interested in the program, he could become a name to keep a close eye on over the next 12 months.

Ranked as the No. 1 prospect in Missouri according to the 247 Composite Rankings, Wingo is a standout two-way player with size and speed. At receiver, Wingo caught 41 passes for 785 yards and scored 13 total touchdowns. Defensively, the 5-star has made 44 tackles, two sacks, two INTs, and one defensive touchdown. He’s also an excellent return man who can be dangerous returning both kicks and punts. If that’s not enough, Wingo is also his team’s punter, averaging 41.2 yards per punt last season.

Wingo took a visit to Tennessee for Jr. Day in mid-January and some sources believe the Volunteers ae the current team to beat in Wingo’s recruitment.
