ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are cleaning up on the recruiting trail.

After winning back to back national championships earlier this month, everything has gone Georgia’s way on the recruiting trail.

Smart and his staff have landed four commitments so far in 2023 and two of them are in the 2024 class.

Now, another major 2024 target is ready to make his commitment, and that’s 5-star CB Ellis Robinson IV‍. The IMG Academy (FL) standout told Dawg Post earlier this month that Georgia was #1 in his recruitment, and now he’s set a commitment date for February 1st where he’ll choose from Georgia, LSU, Miami, Colorado, and Alabama.

Unless something has drastically changed in the last few weeks, it appears Fran Brown and Will Muschamp have put themselves in an excellent position to land his commitment. In fact, sources say they put themselves in a great spot a while ago.

“The people in the building are pretty special”, Robinson once told Dawg Post. “They make sure you feel comfortable and at home. Also, the relationship my family and I have built with coach Fran Brown, coach Will Muschamp and coach Kirby Smart has been genuine and sincere. They definitely make me feel like a priority.”

As a player, Robinson has natural cover skills and tremendous hands. He runs well, has a great motor, and does a great job of making a play on the ball. He’s fundamentally sound, shows great footwork, and brings a physical presence. He’s a sure tackler, but his ability to lock down receivers in coverage make him one of the top recruits across the country for the 2024 class.

A‍ longtime Georgia target, sources say the Bulldogs have been trending with Robinson throughout most of his recruitment. The 6-foot-0 175-pounder started his career at Iona Prep (NY) where he picked off eight passes as a sophomore in 2021. Last year he played down in Florida at IMG Academy.

He’s ranked as the No. 1 CB prospect, the No. 6 prospect in Florida and the No. 13 overall prospect in the 2024 class according to the 247 Composite Rankings.
