ATHENS - The praise is loud and clear across the country for quarterback Stetson Bennett.
After leading the Georgia Bulldogs to back-to-back national championships, it’s clear Bennett has joined a special group of quarterbacks as one of the best to ever play college football.
NBC’s Dan Patrick said on Monday’s episode of the Dan Patrick show that Stetson is now one of the great quarterbacks the game has ever seen.
“Stetson Bennett has firmly cemented himself as one of the great college quarterbacks of all time”, Patrick said. “He’s Georgia’s Tim Tebow. He seemed unflappable. He made the big play when you needed a big play. The last two years he did everything you want a great quarterback to do. He’s got a little Drew Brees in him.”
Bennett will now take his shot in the NFL, and while he may not have ideal size and arm talent to play at the next level, he showed that he’s always ready to make a big throw in big moments. When the game matters most, the Mailman always delivered.
Georgia fans and people who watch the SEC consistently have known for a while now that Bennett was turning into a special player, and now national analysts are finally saying it after he led Georgia to another championship.
He’ll go down as the best Georgia quarterback in school history, and he SHOULD go down as one of college football’s best.

He NEVER lost in Athens. He went 4-0 in the Playoffs. He’s a Heisman Trophy finalist. But more importantly, he’s a two-time national champion quarterback. He led a prolific offense and lit up the scoreboard over the last three games of the season.
Against the Horned Frogs, Bennett threw for over 300 yards and accounted for six touchdowns. He ended the season throwing for 4,127 yards and 27 touchdowns to go along with 10 rushing scores.
