ATLANTAGeorgia Bulldogs and coach Kirby Smart will take on the TCU Horned Frogs in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA on January 9, 2023.

The game will be the third College Football Playoff National Championship Game appearance for the Bulldogs. It is TCU’s first. Georgia beat Alabama last year in Indianapolis to capture the program's first national title since 1980. The 33-18 win over the No. 1 Tide was the first time Kirby beat Nick Saban and the Tide in his tenure as head coach.

The two programs faced off for the national title in 2017, with Alabama pulling off an improbable 26-23 win over the Dawgs in overtime.

The last team to win the national title in back-to-back seasons was Alabama in 2011 and 2012. No program has ever won back-to-back titles in the playoff era.

ESPN will broadcast the Bulldogs' clash with TCU at 7:30 PM EST on its family of networks. That is earlier in the evening than last year - a game that started well after 8 PM. ESPN's Chris Fowler will be on the call with Kirk Herbstreit.

Early action considers the Bulldogs favored to beat TCU by 13.
