The Georgia Bulldogs didn’t play on Saturday, but some former Bulldogs in the NFL did.

In case you forgot, an NFL-record 15 Bulldogs, coming off a 2021 national championship win, were drafted in last Aprils’ 2022 NFL Draft.

Kirby Smart saw two of his running backs drafted last spring, and one of them, current Buffalo Bill rookie James Cook, found the end-zone during a massive Buffalo Bills win over the Miami Dolphins on Saturday night.

In a cold, snowy environment, Cook hauled in an incredible Josh Allen pass right before the first-half to give the Bills a 21-13 lead heading into halftime.

Allen bought time in the pocket, eluded defenders, scrambled away, and found Cook in the back of the end-zone for the score. The Bills drafted Cook because of his ability to make plays in the passing game, and his ability to get open in a key scenario like that shows why he’s starting to thrive in the high-powered Bills offense.

Cook is making more and more of an impact as the season has progressed, and in the biggest game of the season so far against a divisional opponent, Cook was able to help lead the Bills to victory.

The 2nd-round pick rushed five times for 34 yards in Buffalo’s 32-19 win. He also caught two passes for five yards including that key 2nd-quarter touchdown.

Cook was the third running back selected in the 2022 NFL draft, being taken with the 61st pick by the Bills.

At Georgia, Cook was a consistent playmaker who accounted for 1,503 rushing yards and 730 receiving yards throughout his time in Athens. As a senior in 2021, helping lead Georgia to a national championship, Cook rushed for 728 yards and 7 touchdowns while adding 284 yards and four more touchdowns.

As a rookie this season, Cook has rushed 69 times for 363 yards and one touchdown.
