ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs are set to tee it up Between the Hedges against Georgia Tech in this year’s edition of Clean Old Fashioned Hate.
For the second season in a row Georgia is a massive favorite over in-state rival Georgia Tech.
The Bulldogs were listed as 35.5-point favorites over the Jackets on Saturday night. It is the second year in a row where the Dawgs have been listed as a 35-point favorite over Tech. Last season the Dawgs beat Georgia Tech 45-0 in Atlanta as 35.5-point favorites.
Georgia Tech has not played in Athens since Georgia’s lopsided win over Tech Between the Hedges in 2018.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN and will kickoff at noon. The weather is expected to be chilly - in the low 50s. No. 1 Georgia and Tech were both in action this weekend. Georgia beat Kentucky 16-6 in Lexington Saturday afternoon in one of the coldest games in recent history. Meanwhile, Tech upset No. 13 North Carolina 21-17 in Chapel Hill. The Jackets are 5-6 with the Georgia game looming.

The significant line shows how much betters think of the No. 1 Dawgs. Georgia has not entered a game this season without being a double-digit favorite. Georgia’s win over Tennessee in Athens crept over the ten-point mark just before kickoff.
Georgia is 30-0 straight up as a 30-plus-point favorite since 2010. Georgia Tech has been a 30-point or more underdog twice in history - losing both games, and failing to cover (2021 UGA; 2019 Clemson).
