ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit, Gameday Crew Talk Georgia Bulldogs, Tennessee Vols and Alabama

ATHENS - ESPN’s Gameday crew had a lengthy discussion of the Georgia Bulldogs, Tennessee Vols and Alabama Crimson Tide as that trio of teams tries to fight their way into the College Football Playoff.
Both the Vols and Dawgs are undefeated and barreling towards pre-Halloween dates with major rivals. But the crew looked forward to plat the what-if game.
“I think Tennessee has to win, and I mean win, every game to get in,” Lee Corso said. “I think Ohio State, Michigan, Georgia and Alabama with one loss has the advantage over (Tennessee). There is a lot of football to be played, but I have Michigan, Ohio State, Georgia and Clemson, of course (in the playoff).
The Tigers, Buckeyes and Wolverines are all undefeated. Ohio State hosts Michigan at the conclusion of the regular season.

“When Tennessee beat Alabama you started thinking what happens if they lose to Georgia?” Kirk Herbstreit asked. “If they beat Georgia it’s a moot point. But if (Tennessee) were to lose in Athens, but fight hard and end up 11-1 - and they don't go to Atlanta - what Lee's saying I think... well it might be too early to play the what-if game.”
Being too early was something that was bantered around, but the discussion continued nonetheless. Alabama plays Mississippi State on Saturday. UGA is off this week before facing the Gators in Jacksonville. Tennessee hosts UT-Martin before hosting Kentucky next week. Alabama plays LSU on the same say day the Vols come to Athens.
“If Alabama beats Georgia in the SEC Championship Game, and Georgia has the win over Tennessee, (UGA) is in,” Chris “The Bear” Fallica.
“What could hurt Tennessee is if they lose to Georgia, and Alabama beats Georgia in the SEC Championship Game - Alabama is going in my opinion,” Herbstreit said. “And then you look at Georgia-Tennessee head-to-head, and Georgia is going. Tennessee still needs to keep going.”
“(Tennessee) must win every game,” Corso said immediately.

“It was a close game," Desmond Howard said of the Vols 52-49 win over No. 3 Alabama.. "It's not like Tennessee went out there and manhandled Alabama. I think it is too early to have this discussion.”
“Alabama (had a) wake-up call,” Corso continued. “Watch them. They are dangerous, but they must win every game impressively to make it.”
After State, Alabama is off before traveling to Baton Rouge. Undefeated Ole Miss comes a week later before seemingly easy contests against Austin Peay and Auburn in Tuscaloosa.
