ATHENS - It looks like Dan Mullen clearly knows who his daddy is.

It’s Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.

After getting thrown out of Gainesville last year, the former Florida Gators head coach is now a college football analyst at ESPN, and he obviously knows how good the Georgia Bulldogs are.

He’s seen Georgia dominate his Gators, and other than the 2020 Covid season, he’s seen them completely own the SEC East.

After watching Georgia completely embarrass Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks in Atlanta last weekend, Mullen has the Georgia Bulldogs winning the 2022 national championship after week one.

Most experts still believe Alabama is the No. 1 team in the country, which makes sense, but the Bulldogs certainly made their case for No. 1 as well. Mullen saw a Georgia team firing on all cylinders offensively, and he saw a defense that played well against Oregon, but should play even better as the season moves along.

The Georgia Bulldogs don’t appear to have a weakness right now. That may sound like “rat poison”, but that’s the program Kirby Smart has built. He’s built a machine, and nobody know it better than Dan Mullen. Now that he’s not in Gainesville, he can open his eyes and acknowledge that the Georgia Bulldogs aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, and that they are a legitimate contender to win the national championship for the second consecutive season.

Mullen has Georgia defeating Michigan once again in the CFP semi-finals, and has the Ohio State Buckeyes defeating Alabama to play Georgia for the title. There he has Georgia beating Ohio State for another national championship.

Is Mullen trying to win over Kirby Smart? There’s always room for another analyst on Georgia’s sideline I guess. Either way, it appears the former Gators coach is all in on the Bulldogs, and we can all understand why.

The Georgia Bulldogs are on a path to Atlanta, but that’s not good enough anymore. It’s “championship or bust” for Smart’s Bulldogs every year moving forward, and if they continue to improve as the season moves along, they’ve got a great chance of bringing another championship back to Athens.
