Georgia Bulldog Target Announces Top Group And Commitment Date

ATHENS - As expected, Kirby Smart, Bryan McClendon and the rest of the Georgia staff got some good news today as four-star wide receiver Tyler Williams put the Bulldogs in his “Top 5” and announced a commitment date of September 27th.
This comes as no surprise to Dawg Post members, and even if Williams came out with a top 3, the Bulldogs would be on the list.
As a matter of fact, if the four-star were to announce a commitment anytime soon, Dawg Post believes the Bulldogs would be the team to land his commitment.
One of Bryan McClendon’s top targets in the 2023 class, Williams took a few officials last month including trips to Georgia, Texas A&M, South Carolina, and Clemson. The Ole Miss Rebels also made William’s top group, but Dawg Post doesn’t consider them a true contender for Williams in the end.
Back in the spring we were told this was shaping up to be a Georgia/Clemson battle with the Tigers having the early lead. Now, sources say this will come down to Georgia and Texas A&M, and that the Bulldogs are the team to beat over the next two months.
A former quarterback and basketball star, Williams is new to receiver but showed plenty of promise and potential last year as a junior. A big target with strong, reliable hands at 6-foot-4 190-pounds, Williams has plenty of size and tremendous ball skills, making him one of the top overall wideouts in the sunshine state.
He quickly climbed Georgia’s board for a reason, and the Bulldogs have been pushing for the four-star prospect hard over the last several months.
The Bulldogs have one current receiver commitment in four-star Raymond Cottrell, and they would love to add someone with William’s skill-set along with him.
Williams is ranked in the 247 Composite Rankings as the No. 24 wide receiver prospect and No. 148 overall prospect in the 2023 class.
