ATHENS - Georgia Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart and Fran Brown strike gold once again.
The Dawgs already have two of the best cornerback prospects in the country on the commit list in 5-star AJ Harris and 4-star Justyn Rhett, and they’ve added another impressive defensive back today in four-star, Daniel Harris.
One of the top cornerback prospects in Florida, Harris has been a longtime target for cornerbacks coach Fran Brown who originally extended an offer to Harris when he was at Rutgers. Harris took his official visit to Georgia the weekend of June 17th, and sources say the Bulldogs, who many feel had the lead going into that visit, sealed the dealed that weekend.
This comes as no surprise to Dawg Post members who knew all along that Georgia was towards the top in Harris’ recruitment since Fran Brown offered on February 22nd.
After official visits to Ohio State, Penn State, and Michigan, Harris made the easy decision to play in the South for Kirby Smart, Fran Brown, and the reigning national champions in Athens.

So what are the Bulldogs getting in Harris?
Length and natural cover skills.
At 6-foot-2 and 175-pounds, Harris has a long frame with sprinter speed. He’s clocked in at 21.61 in the 200m and 10.74 in the 100m so far in his high school career.
When you have track-star speed and a long frame, there’s a good chance the Bulldogs will come calling. He fits what Georgia wants physically from their cornerbacks, and he’s a natural in coverage as well. He didn’t light up the stat sheet last year, and that’s a good thing. Quarterbacks didn’t test him often, and he proacticed each day against one of the top 2023 receivers in the country in high four-star Jalen Brown.
The Georgia staff can just about hand-pick their defensive backs with Kirby Smart, Will Muschamp and Fran Brown coaching them up, and Harris is one they’ve had their eye on for months now.
In 10 games last fall as a junior, Harris totaled 37 tackles and one INT. He’s a sure tackler in the run game and knows how to deliver a big hit when he gets a head of steam towards the ball carrier.
According to the 247 Composite Rankings, Harris is ranked as the No. 19 CB prospect in the country and the No. 30 prospect in Florida.
