So what are the Bulldogs getting in Allen?
Size and physicality.
In general, Allen is a tough, physical linebacker who can run. The 6-foot-1 220-pounder out of small-town Barnesville can fly around the field and knows how to make the secure tackle when he meets the ball carrier.
Allen has a nose for the football, can dissect plays before they happen, and shows great pursuit to the ball. Allen shows good hands in coverage, he has sideline to sideline speed, and knows how to leave a mark when he makes a tackle.
He’s put together physically, and he’s one of the top overall athletes in the region, playing running back on offense when he’s not dominating at linebacker. He loves contact, he’s got a muscular frame, and he already looks like a D1 linebacker. As a junior last fall, Allen made 91 tackles, 7.5 TFLs, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 3 INTs.
Alleen becomes Georgia’s first inside lineebacker commitment, and he was high on Georgia’s board from the beginning. He originally planned to make a commitment on July 9th, but after visiting Knoxville, he quickly knew Athens is where he wanted to be.
Dawg Post ranks Allen as the No. 7 prospect in Georgia in the 2023 class.
