ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs had plenty of talented prospects on campus once again this past weekend, and one prospect was big offensive tackle, Olaus Alinen.
The Finland native now playing at The Loomis Chaffee School (CT) is a long, athletic tackle with plenty of size at 6-foot-7 325-pounds, and while multiple sources told Dawg Post that Alabama was the team to beat heading into his official visit to Georgia, the Bulldogs made sure Alinen and his family had a great time in the Classic City.
The No. 1 player in Connecticut said the “culture” at Georgia is what stood out during the visit.

“UGA culture is great”, Alinen told Dawg Post. “The way they work in that program is different!! Coach Searels is a great guy. I enjoyed spending time with him, and on the field, he gets after it. He’s a very experienced and intensive coach!
What was Georgia’s pitch to the big tackle prospect?
“They think I am the right type of player for their standards”, Alinen added. “It won’t be easy and you will have to work hard every day, but they will prepare you for the next level. They will win and develop. They have all the resources for that.”
It’s been a very busy month for Alinen who just wrapped up his third official visit of the month. He took his first official visit to Miami the weekend of June 3rd, then was in Tuscaloosa two weekends ago to official check out the Crimson Tide.
Alinen plans to take a mid-week official visit to Oregon this week before taking his final official visit to Ohio State the weekend of June 23rd.
A commitment will come soon after as Alinen confirmed to Dawg Post that he’ll be making his decision next month. He’s ranked in the 247 Composite Rankings as the No. 122 prospect in the country for the 2023 class and the No. 15 offensive tackle prospect.
