UGA Commit RyQueze McElderry Talks Relationship With Stacy Searels

ATHENS - The month of June has already been a successful one for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs, and this past weekend they had some top targets on campus for official visits.
Smart and offensive line coach Stacy Searels added a commitment from three-star Joshua Miller earlier this week, and they had another offensive line commitment in town last weekend in three-star guard, RyQueze McElderry.
The massive 6-foot-3 330-pounder from Anniston (AL) committed to Matt Luke back in November, and he told Dawg Post he can’t wait to suit up for new Bulldog assistant Stacy Searels in the future.
It goes farther than that for the big, physical guard. Even when the Bulldogs didn’t have an offensive line coach, McElderry told Dawg Post in February that the program in general is why he stayed committed.
“What makes UGA special is the environment, the people, the culture, and the foundation that has been built in Athens,” McElderry said.
“I love everything about coach Searels”, the Bulldog commitment added. “What makes him a great coach is the way he carries himself and the way he carries himself. I like the way he approaches everything and the way he cares about his players. He’s laid back, straight to the point, and overall, he’s a coach you would want to position yourself around.”
McElderry has been committed to Georgia for 7 months now, but that hasn’t stopped other schools from recruiting him. He took an official visit to Auburn in late May and the Crimson Tide are another team to keep an eye on if they start pushing harder for the big, imposing lineman.
Don’t let the three-star ranking fool you. McElderry is a stout lineman who can open up running lanes between the tackles. He has plenty of size, he’s physical, and was one of the top OL performers during the Atlanta Under Armour Camp in February.
