Speedy WR Target Anthony Evans Breaks Down UGA Official Visit

ATHENS - It’s been a massive month of June for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs on the recruiting trail, and over the weekend, the Georgia staff hosted some top targets on official visits.
One top target in town was one of the fastest prospects in the country in four-star wideout, Anthony Evans.
The former Arkansas commitment out of Judson (TX) has track star speed as he runs a 4.36 in the 40-yard dash, a 10.27 in the 100m, and a 21.10 in the 200m.
The speedy wideout has Georgia high on his list at the moment, and he broke down his official visit with Dawg Post.
“Georgia’s a very special place because of the people there”, Evans said. “They flat out care about the person first and player second. I’ve connected with Coach BMac from day 1. He’s been where I’m trying to get too, so having him as my position coach and having someone I can relate too is very important. His track record on the players he’s coached speaks for itself. There’s not many receiver coaches in the country as good as him in my eyes. Coach Monken/McLendon and even coach Smart broke a lot of things down for me from a factual standpoint and I’m very appreciative for that.”
So what was Georgia’s pitch to Evans?
“Be ready to play early”, Evans said. “They said there’s not a receiver like me on the team at the moment. We sat and watched film for sure. I would help not only in the receiver room but in the return game as well. For a program like UGA I don’t think there’s much the staff really need to sell as the program speak for itself. I’ve built a pretty solid relationship with BMac and having this weekend to build with Monken was very important and it was valuable.”
The Bulldogs are looking to add more speed in the 2023 class at receiver, and that’s exactly what Evans brings to the table. At 5-foot-11 165-pounds, he’s explosive, agile, and knows how to get behind the defense. He’s a receiver to keep a close eye on moving forward.
