ATHENS - Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer was drafted No. 195 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Chargers.
The former five-star prospect was a part of the Georgia Bulldogs 2021 national championship. Salyer was one of the Dawgs four permanent team captains in 2021. He was named to Walter Camp’s All-America 2nd Team and the AP and SEC Coaches’ All-SEC 2nd Team.
Salyer primarily started at left tackle for the Dawgs, but he played a lot at left guard - including the final quarter of the win over No. 1 Alabama. Salyer played in 79 percent of Georgia’s offensive plays despite missing the Auburn game. Salyer had ten “knockdown” blocks, and surrendered only two quarterback hurries. Salyer did not permit a sacks during the season.
White picked Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs over a host of schools including Alabama and others.
