ATHENS - Former Georgia Bulldog Travon Walker is the odds on favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
According to FanDuel, Walker is now listed at -200 odds to be the No. 1 overall pick, which is held by the Jags. He was listed at +150 Sunday night. ESPN reported Monday that “36% of the money bey on all NFL-related options at Cesars Sportsbook was either ‘pro-Walker or anti (Aidan) Hutchinson.’”
Michigan’s Hutchinson has been viewed as one of the top prospects for some time. That same ESPN report cited PointsBet’s view that Jags’ GM Trent Baalke is “fully in on Walker”.
The NFL Draft starts Thursday in Las Vegas. Walker has not planned on attending the event.
A Georgia player has not gone first overall since Matthew Stafford was selected by the Detroit Lions in the 2009 NFL Draft. Walker is one of a slew of Bulldogs that are expected to be drafted in the first round.
