NFL Draft Expert Predicts Georgia Bulldog Travon Walker Drafted No. 1

ATHENS - After a dominating performance at the 2022 NFL Draft combine, there’s one Georgia Bulldogs who could be taken No. 1 overall in this month’s NFL Draft.
That would be former 5-star defensive lineman, Travon Walker.
That’s according to NFL Media Analyst Charles Davis, who believes the Jacksonville Jaguars will select former Bulldog Travon Walker with the No. 1 overall pick.
The former Upson Lee High School star out of Thomaston was one of the top overall high school prospects in the 2021 class, and helped lead one of the best defenses in college football history last fall. He also helped lead the Georgia Bulldogs to their first national championship since 1980.
Kirby Smart’s star defender dominated during the NFL Combine last month, running an incredible 4.51 time in the 40-yard dash at 6-foot-5 and 272-pounds. He also stood out among other defensive linemen during drills throughout the combine.
As a junior last fall, on route to a national championship, Walker finished the season with 37 tackles, 7.5 TFLs, 6 sacks, and a team-leading 36 QB hurries. The Jaguars need plenty of help defensively, as they only have +700 odds to win the AFC South in 2022 according to FanDuel.
Walker would be the first Bulldog selected No. 1 overall since former UGA QB Matthew Stafford was selected No. 1 overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2009 NFL Draft.
Davis also predicted that defensive tackle Jordan Davis would be selected No. 14 overall by the Baltimore Ravens. As a senior last fall, the national champion defender won the 2021 Bednarik Award, given annually to the nation's top defensive player, and the Outland Trophy, given to the nation's top interior lineman.
One pick later, Davis has defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt mocked to the Philadelphia Eagles with pick No. 15, which would give the Bulldogs three defensive linemen drafted in the first round.
