Jordan Davis wants the Georgia Bulldogs to continue to spread the love.
That’s what he told reporters at the NFL Combine on Saturday. The future NFL defensive lineman said doing so was the key to the program contenting to have success.
“It's about the love. We always talk about love for our team,” he said. “In order for a team to be well-rounded and well-connected it has to have that love. I'm sure those boys know what it takes to win, especially the older guys, so I'm sure they'll be in good shape next year.”
Next year starts with a bang - a fight with Dan Lanning’s Oregon Ducks in Atlanta on Labor Day weekend.
“Oregon got a good one,” Davis said.
Davis, Lanning and the bulk of the rest of the Dawgs’ defense from 2021 is gone now. But Davis gave a few guys to keep an eye on for 2022.
“Jalen Carter. Zion Logue -those guys,” he said. “A few freshmen are going to step up and do their thing. They know what to do. They're well coached. To see them next year will be great.”
The Bulldogs are considered one of the favorites to win college football’s national title in 2022. FanDuel lists Georgia’s odds to win it all at +350, which is just behind Alabama (+200) and in front of Ohio State (+550).
It remains to be seen which, if any games, the Dawgs will be underdogs in this fall. Meanwhile, Davis likely helped his NFL stock with his performance at the NFL Combine - running an eye-popping 4.8 40-yard dash.
