The Georgia Bulldogs continue to dominate on the recruiting trail as they picked up a major commitment from McEachern (GA) defensive lineman Jamil Burroughs.

The big 6-foot-3 315-pounder told Dawg Post in early August that Georgia was his leader, and the Bulldogs were able to hold off Alabama and Clemson for his commitment. Burroughs annouced his decision on his Twitter page

"Georgia is my dream school and I always thought about staying home and being close to my mom." Burroughs said. "I feel like I have a big opportunity at Georgia. The depth chart means a lot to me and I know they have a lot of guys leaving by the time I get there. I want to come in and make an early impact."

Head coach Kirby Smart also made a big impact on the state's 10th-ranked prospect.

"Coach Kirby (Smart) is really energetic and I want to play for a guy like that." Burroughs said. "He keeps pushing his players to do better in life both on and off the football field."

Burroughs becomes Georgia's 3rd commitment in the 2020 class, joining DL Nazir Stackhouse and OL Broderick Jones. He is ranked as a 4-star on Dawg Post and the top DT prospect in the state.
