ATHENS - Former Georgia Bulldog QB Aaron Murray broke down one of Stetson Bennett’s interceptions on Saturday - saying he likely would have made the same mistake.

Murray, who is a college football analyst for CBS, said that Bennett was fooled by the Gators’ coverage in the secondary after play-action from the Dawgs’ offense. The No. 1 Bulldogs won the game 34-7, but Bennett had a rough day compared to the rest of his performances this season.

"We didn't play as well,” Bennett told reporters after the game. “And that starts with me.”

Bennett (10-for-19, 161 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT) got the start for the fourth straight week and fifth time overall this season. With the win, he improves to 9-2 as a starter including 5-0 this year.  In the first half, Georgia had three scoring drives, a 63-yarder that took 6:22, which ended with a field goal. The second one went for a TD that covered 11 yards on one play in six seconds. The six-second drive was the quickest this year. The third scoring drive was another in just one play, this time covering 36 yards.

Kirby Smart told reporters after the game that he thought the Dawgs could play better on offense.

“We did not play out best game, and Stetson did not play his best game,” Kirby admitted. “He did play well enough to win. He did do the things he had to do with his feet. Two really big plays in the game, I thought he made with his feet. He made some good throws too."
