BREAKING: 2023 DB Kayin Lee Commits to Kirby Smart, Georgia Bulldogs

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are off to a MAJOR start in the 2023 class as they have added another commitment from one of the state’s top juniors.

They landed a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Bo Hughley‍ out of Langston Hughes (GA) this week and earned a commitment today from four-star cornerback Kayin Lee‍ out of Cedar Grove.

Lee, an athletic, instinctive cornerback with ball skills, is one of the top defensive back prospects across the South. The 2023 class is incredibly deep in the secondary, and Lee is one of the best. The 5-foot-11, 160-pounder chose the Bulldogs over Ohio State, Auburn and Arkansas among others.

What will Lee bring to Athens?

Ball skills and playmaking ability.

All Lee does is make plays. Lee is not big or long, but he’s smart, instinctive and knows how to make a play on the football. He picked off two passes in last Friday’s game against Carver-Atlanta and has a nose for the football.

He’s physical on the outside and has no problem stepping up and delivering a big hit. He likes contact and knows how to get the ball carrier to the ground. 

You may not notice him every play, but that’s not a bad thing. Still, every once in a while he’s going to either make a play on the ball, or make a big tackle. He ran with Buford wideout Isaiah Bond during their August scrimmage, and Bond is one of the fastest players in the state. 

The Georgia staff had a lot of guys to choose from in the secondary in the 2023 class, and Lee was the guy they wanted. That’s all you need to know about how good the Bulldogs think he is. He now joins four-star defensive back Marcus Washington‍ on the 2023 commit list along with four-star Bo Hughley‍, four-star ATH‍ Daquayvious Sorey‍, four-star TE Pearce Spurlin‍ and three-star DL Seven Cloud‍.
