Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are loaded with talent going into the 2021 season, and now that it’s Award Watch time, multiple Bulldogs have an opportunity to bring home some hardware at the end of the season.

Quarterback JT Daniels is on the Maxwell Award Watch List, presented annually to the most outstanding player in college football. That should come as no surprise as Daniels finished the 2020 season on a strong note, throwing for 1,231 yards and 10 TDs in the final four games. Now that he’s the starter, Daniels is expected to push for multiple awards this fall.

Other notable players on the Maxwell Award Watch List include QB Spencer Rattler (Oklahoma), RB Tank Bigsby (Auburn), QB Sam Howell (North Carolina), QB Matt Corrall (Ole Miss), among others.

Two more Bulldogs are up for awards, too. Senior DL Jordan Davis and junior LB Nakobe Dean are both on the Bednarik Award Watch List, presented annually to the best defensive player in college football.

He may not light up the stat sheet, but there aren’t many defensive linemen across college football who can do what Jordan Davis does. The massive 6-foot-6 340-pounder is an absolute terror for opposing linemen in the trenches and knows how to clog the middle of the line of scrimmage. He’s always demanding a double team, allowing other defenders, mainly Nakobe Dean, who easily attack the ball carrier.

Davis was injured for a lot of the 2020 season, but still made a big impact every time he was in the game. If he can stay healthy this fall, look for Davis to prove that he’s one of the top defensive linemen in all of college football.

As expected, Georgia’s star linebacker Nakobe Dean is also on this list. The former five-star prospect has lived up to the hype during his first two years in Athens, making 96 total stops so far in his young career. The fast, sideline to sideline tackling machine will be the leader of Georgia's defense this fall, and with another strong season, Dean could see him skyrocket up draft boards for next April.
