ATHENS - Georgia Bulldogs QB JT Daniels will highlight UGA’s annual trip to SEC Media Days, the league announced on Wednesday.
JT Daniels, a junior, will be joined by senior defensive lineman Jordan Davis. It is expected that this will be final year both will play for the Bulldogs. Georgia coach Kirby Smart is scheduled to meet with the media on Tuesday morning in the COVID-altered Media Days, which returns to Hoover, Alabama after a one-year hiatus.
The league also announced Wednesday that fans would not be permitted inside the hotel hosting Media Days. Traditionally fans have gathered at the bottom of escalators in hopes to get autographs from coaches and players as they move through the event.
SEC Media Days didn’t take place in 2020 as the league tried to navigate COVID a year ago.
Daniels started the Bulldogs final four games of the year - including a come-from-behind win performance in the Bulldogs’ 24-21 win over No. 8 Cincinnati at the 2021 Peach Bowl. Daniels transferred to Georgia after starting his true freshman season at USC and then tearing his ACL in the first game of the season in 2019.
He ended 2020 with 1,231 yards, ten touchdowns, two interceptions while completing 67% of his throws. His best game of the season was his first game of the year - a 401-yard performance against Mississippi State in which he had four touchdowns on 74% passing.
SEC Media Days starts Monday with Florida, LSU and South Carolina leading the way.
