Current Bulldogs Get "Delp Is A Dawg" Message Going on Social Media

July 1, 2021

As Dawg Post has reported for about 9 months now, four-star TE Oscar Delp‍ is a MAJOR Bulldog target in the 2022 class.

Actually, he’s the ONLY TE target for Georgia in the 2022 class.

The big 6-foot-4 220-pounder from West Forsyth (GA) earned an offer from the Bulldogs on September 19th and has become the priority target for TE’s coach Todd Hartley and head coach Kirby Smart ever since.

Delp and his family took their official visit to Georgia in early June, setting the table for an absolutely crazy month of June for visits. The former Vickery Creek Middle School star also took official visits to Michigan, where he has family ties, Florida, and South Carolina, where he also has family ties. He took unofficial visits this month to Clemson, Alabama, and another under the radar visit to Athens.

He’s coming off his official visit to South Carolina, and the Gamecocks made sure the entire town knew he was in town. “We Want Delp” and “Oscar Wanted” signs were put all over town, showing the USC legacy how much he’s wanted.

This week, current Georgia Bulldogs took to social media to get an Oscar trend going.

That’s the message that multiple Bulldogs tweeted out this week, showing that it’s not just Hartley and the staff pushing hard for the elite pass catcher.

John FitzPatrick, Darnell Washington, Ryland Goede, and more all made sure to push the message out this week.

Delp may have family ties to Michigan, South Carolina, and Clemson, but the Bulldogs are hoping he’ll join the UGA family the summer.

One of the top playmakers across the state last year, Delp helped lead the Wolverines to the third round of the 7A playoffs last season after catching 43 passes for 730 yards and 9 touchdowns in just 9 games.

Dawg Post ranks Delp as the No.6 prospect in the state of Georgia for the 2022 class. He’s also ranked in the Composite rankings as the No.76 overall prospect in the country.
