The Georgia Bulldogs keep rolling on the recruiting trail as they add their first wide receiver commitment in the 2022 class.

That would be North Cobb (GA) four-star, De'Nylon Morrissette‍.

The 6-foot-1 200-pounder has been a big deal since his middle school days and he’s more than lived up to the potential on the field. After earning offers from Georgia, Alabama, Florida, among others, Morrissette decided to stay home and play for Kirby Smart and the in-state Bulldogs.

Morrissette has known 5-star QB commit Gunner Stockton‍ for a while now and the two are already building chemistry this offseason through 7-on-7. The former Brookwood (GA) standout told Dawg Post earlier this year that he was looking for that “home” feel, and he was able to find that in Athens.

So what are the Bulldogs getting in Morrissette?

They’re getting a polished route-runner for someone 200-pounds. He carries his weight very well, he’s a fluid runner, and he has great hands. He’s explosive and has shown he can make plays deep down the field while also making an impact in the screen game.

Not only does he run well for his size, but he shows great footwork and the ability to quickly get in and out of his breaks. Once he has the ball, he's tough to bring down with just one defender. He does a great job of getting yards after the catch and always finds a way to fall forward for a final yard or two. He adjusts his body well in the air and does a nice job of coming down with tough catches in traffic. He went up against impressive defensive backs all season and still found a way to make a big impact each week. As a junior last year for the Broncos, Morrissette caught 63 passes for 824 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Morrissette may not be a guy who comes in and makes an immediate impact, but his size and ability to create separation could help him to stand out early on.  There aren't many who can run routes like he can at that size, so there's some potential for him to make an impact down the road.

Where do the Bulldogs go from here?

After signing just two receivers in the 2021 class, look for Cortez Hankton to add at least two more receivers in this current 2022 cycle to go along with Morrissette.

Another in-state receiver to know is four-star Kojo Antwi‍ of Lambert (GA). The Bulldogs will have to fight off the Texas A&M Aggies in the end, but they'll have a chance to take the lead in early June when Antwi takes his official visit to Georgia. Antwi will be in Athens the weekend of June 4th along with 5-star QB commit Gunner Stockton‍, 4-star WR commit De'Nylon Morrissette‍, and four-star TE target, Oscar Delp‍. The top-ranked WR prospect in Georgia will make his decision on July 5th and will decide between Georgia, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Alabama, and USC.

Another wide receiver to know is 5-star, Evan Stewart‍. The elite 6-foot-0 175-pounder out of Frisco (TX) has always been high on Georgia and sources say the Bulldogs are firmly in the mix for the No.3 WR prospect in the country.

Morrissette becomes Georgia’s 13th commitment in the 2022 class and is the first receiver to jump on board. Dawg Post ranks Morrissette as the No.10 overall player in Georgia and the No.2 wide receiver prospect in the state.
