ATHENS - Kirby Smart’s recruiting machine at Georgia took a step back on Saturday as the Georgia Bulldogs lost the commitment of running back Treyaun Webb‍.

Webb had been the Bulldogs’ lone committed player in the 2023 class

"I would like to thank the entire UGA football coaching staff for recruiting me," Webb said on social media. "After talking with my family I have decided to decommit from the University of Georgia."

Webb, who is considered one of the top running backs in the country for his class, said he was still interested in the Bulldogs, and that they continue to be one of the programs he will look at to play for in the future.

"(UGA is) still in my top six. I just need to strongly weigh my options to make sure I am making the BEST decision for me!!"

Webb listed UGA, Florida, LSU, Penn State, Ohio State and Oklahoma as his new top six. The Bulldogs are in the midst of wrapping up the final pieces of their 2021 class, which means that Webb's final decision is likely more than 23 months from now - tons of time for things to happen in the recruiting world.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are coming off another top ten finish on the field, which was capped by a come-from-behind win at the 2021 Peach Bowl in Atlanta. Georgia is poised to be ranked in the top five to start the season in 2021. The Bulldogs open their 2021 season with Clemson, who should also be ranked in the top five, in Charlotte on September 4th.
